On March 29, the Mercy Health Regional Board and the North Ottawa Community Health System (NOCHS) Board announced a strategic affiliation agreement between our two organizations. This agreement will allow us to share population health management information and needs assessments, recruit physicians and work together to improve primary care and specialty services.
This affiliation agreement is unique, as it allows Mercy Health and NOCHS to remain as independent organizations. We will each maintain an independent board to authorize all decisions and will still independently compete in many areas.
“We have made tremendous progress to improve health care as a regional system. Forging a new relationship with NOCHS supports Mercy Health’s mission to preserve strong, local healthcare in the communities we serve. The collaboration provides a wonderful opportunity for physicians to recognize the Lakeshore as an established region that serves the entire healthcare market,” said Mary Boyd, Mercy Health Executive Vice President of Regional Operations.
We look forward to sharing more specific detail about our initiatives in the coming weeks.
